چکیده

The southern Ogallala Aquifer continues to deplete due decades of irrigation with minimal recharge. Recently enacted regulations limiting groundwater withdrawals and the potential for farm profitability cotton production systems indicate driving forces increased acreage in Northern High Plains Texas (NHPT). This study focused on evaluating land-use change from corn or winter wheat under dryland conditions Palo Duro watershed (PDW) NHPT using an improved Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model. Land-use irrigated led reductions average (2000–2014) annual irrigation, actual evapotranspiration (ETa), surface runoff by 21%, 7%, 63%, respectively. Nevertheless, replacement caused ETa increase 46% 18%, conversion showed 0.1% 15% decreases runoff, More than 40% simulated yields were found when planting area was moving northward cooler NHPT. ongoing land use provided option lengthen water availability irrigation.

Prediction of Land Use Change and its Hydrological Effects Using Markov Chain Model and SWAT Model

Access to current and future water resources is one of the concerned problems for managers and policymakers around the world. Because of the communication between water resources and land use, these two topics had come together in different researches. Scenarios designed in regional land planning provide the basis for analyzing the existing opportunities and making the right decisions for manag...

Assessment the estimation of suspended load under the influence of land use change using SWAT model (Case study: Yalfan watershed)

In a watershed, land use As one of the most effective factors in basin hydrologic response, Can have significant role in the hydrological cycle and water resources. The knowledge of the effects of land use change on basin hydrology responses can help to determine the appropriate strategy to achieve sustainable development of water resources and a management model. The purpose of this study is t...

Land Use Change Simulation Using CLUE-s Model in the Watershed of Doroodzan Dam

Land use change is an essential determinant factor in hydrological processes and it affects many of them. Simulation of land use changes, rise in residential and agricultural area and its effects are among the most important issues related to the watershed management. The objective of this research is land use change detection in the past and simulation of future land use using CLUE-s Model. At...

evaluation of the impacts of land-use change on watershed runoff simulation using the mlp model, case study: yalfan catchment

land-use change affects a number natural processes such as soil erosion, sedimentation, flooding and destruction of soil physical and chemical properties. this change of ecosystem causes the degradation of soil quality which eventually leads to a severe decrease in soil fertility. therefore, various aspects of land-use change should be taken into account in national major decision makings. this...
